We stand behind every piece — crafted with honest materials, finished by hand, and made to stay with you over time.

About

Luo River Reverie | MCS-0012 is a one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic cup from the Collector Pieces series by M&C Studio.

This piece features a hand-painted Luo River Goddess figure moving through a flowing mythic landscape, surrounded by drifting currents, wind-like forms, and layered mineral texture.

The image draws from the classical tale of a brief encounter between a mortal and a river goddess, luminous, distant, and impossible to hold. That sense of movement and separation is echoed through water, wind, and form, creating a quietly narrative piece made to be used, displayed, and kept.

Each cup is individually made, high-fired, and finished with natural variation in brushwork, texture, and kiln result. The piece shown in the photos is the exact piece you receive.

Detail

Each Myth & Clay piece is shaped by hand painting, mineral-rich surface texture, and firing at around 2336°F (1280°C). These layers of process give the cup its depth, movement, and quiet variation in tone and finish.

Made in Jingdezhen and finished in small batches, each piece carries subtle differences that make it distinct. No two pieces are exactly the same.

Care

With regular use, the surface may gradually appear deeper and more luminous over time.

Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh detergents, and sudden temperature changes. Rinse gently and wipe dry after use.

For pieces with gold or silver detailing, do not use the microwave or dishwasher. For pieces without metallic detailing, those uses may be possible, though hand washing is recommended for long-term care.
